I like cassettes. A lot. Started a record label because I liked the cassettes more than the music I was making. Started releasing limited edition ep’s of friends’ bands and it snowballed from there.

Sometimes I pay for the materials and hand make each album. Sometimes I’m broke and my friends ask to use the VGR logo. Sometimes it’s a mix of both.

It’s always changing, evolving, digressing.

Since 1996, when it started, we’ve really taken to our hometown. Hours of talking about leaving for a real city have been replaced by years of being amazed at the art that is created here.

Cleveland is an amazing town. The bands here. Right now. I want to document it. That is our mission. A self sustaining  experiment in historical documentation through music.
